Albert Square and nine city centre sites
The grand one: a city hall lit like a palace and a square of lanterns.
Checked against the organiser in October 2026. The official site is the authoritative source.
Vienna's main Christmas market fills the square in front of the neo-Gothic City Hall with around 150 stalls, a park of light sculptures and the scent of Punsch. It opens earlier than most, so it is the natural first stop of the season. The city has markets in almost every district, and a local knows which ones are worth the tram ride.
The local specialty: Wiener Punsch and Lebkuchen hearts.
One hour with your host and a small tasting of the local specialty, from EUR 69 per person. Company evenings run two hours with tastings and a table to finish. How the hour works
Your host meets you at Rathausplatz and takes you through the Christkindlmarkt first, with the stories behind the Punsch mugs, the craft stalls and the tree. From there the walk continues through the Inner City to a second, quieter market, with a stop for Maroni on the way. Lanes, courtyards and a few doors you would walk past otherwise.
Your host is a Viennese local from the LocalBini network who knows the markets of the Inner City and has a story or two about each of them.
Within a day you hear back with the host, the meeting point and the price for your group.
