Albert Square and nine city centre sites
Three markets under the arcades of a UNESCO Old Town.
Checked against the organiser in October 2026. The official site is the authoritative source.
Bern's three markets sit within a ten minute walk of each other in the UNESCO Old Town: Waisenhausplatz, partly covered and heated, Münsterplatz in front of the Minster with craft weekends on the terrace, and the Sternenmarkt in the park beside the Bundeshaus with food trucks and a fondue chalet. The six kilometres of arcades make Bern the market city for rainy evenings.
The local specialty: Berner Honiglebkuchen, the soft honey gingerbread with the Bern bear on it.
One hour with your host and a small tasting of the local specialty, from CHF 69 per person. Company evenings run two hours with tastings and a table to finish. How the hour works
Your host meets you at Waisenhausplatz, walks you through the market and under the arcades past the Zytglogge to Münsterplatz and the Minster terrace over the Aare, then across to the Sternenmarkt for a fondue or a Glühwein by the Bundeshaus, with the stories of the Old Town, the bears and the Honiglebkuchen on the way.
Your host is a Bern local from the LocalBini network who knows the three markets and the arcades of the Old Town.
Within a day you hear back with the host, the meeting point and the price for your group.
