Albert Square and nine city centre sites
Two markets, a light show on the Basilica and chimney cake on every corner.
Checked against the organiser in October 2026. The official site is the authoritative source.
Budapest has two markets a few minutes apart: the classic one on Vörösmarty tér with craft stalls and a stage, and the Advent market in front of St Stephen's Basilica with a tree, a small rink and a light show on the façade every half hour from dusk. Both open in mid November, among the earliest in Europe.
The local specialty: Kürtőskalács, and the light show projected on St Stephen's Basilica.
One hour with your host and a small tasting of the local specialty, from EUR 69 per person. Company evenings run two hours with tastings and a table to finish. How the hour works
Your host meets you on Vörösmarty tér, walks you through the stalls with a kürtőskalács and a forralt bor, then across to the Basilica for the light show, and on through the Inner City to the Danube bank with the Chain Bridge and the Castle lit across the water. Stories of the Hungarian Christmas table, the fish soup and the beigli on the way.
Your host is a Budapest local from the LocalBini network who knows both markets and the Inner City between them.
Within a day you hear back with the host, the meeting point and the price for your group.
