Albert Square and nine city centre sites
The capital of Christmas, with a market since 1570.
Checked against the organiser in October 2026. The official site is the authoritative source.
Strasbourg calls itself the Capitale de Noël and has the history to back it: the Christkindelsmärik on Place Broglie dates from 1570. The markets spread across the whole Grande Île, from the cathedral square to the Petite France canals, with the great tree on Place Kléber. The city is also where the decorated Christmas tree tradition was first recorded.
The local specialty: Bredele from the bakers' corporation stand, the biscuits every Alsatian family bakes in Advent.
One hour with your host and a small tasting of the local specialty, from EUR 69 per person. Company evenings run two hours with tastings and a table to finish. How the hour works
Your host starts at Place Broglie, walks you to the cathedral and its market, then through the Carré d'Or and across to Petite France, with the story of the Christmas tree, a bredele tasting and vin chaud on the way. The walk ends under the Grand Sapin on Place Kléber.
Your host is a Strasbourg local from the LocalBini network who knows the markets of the Grande Île and the Alsatian Christmas traditions.
Within a day you hear back with the host, the meeting point and the price for your group.
