Albert Square and nine city centre sites
One of Europe's oldest markets, between the cathedral and the fortress.
Checked against the organiser in October 2026. The official site is the authoritative source.
Salzburg's Christkindlmarkt has records going back to the late fifteenth century, and the setting does most of the work: baroque squares, the cathedral, the fortress lit above the roofs. It is a compact market, which makes it ideal for a walk that mixes the stalls with the Old Town and the story of Silent Night, written a few kilometres from here.
The local specialty: Mozartkugeln from the original confectioner and Glühwein under the cathedral.
One hour with your host and a small tasting of the local specialty, from EUR 69 per person. Company evenings run two hours with tastings and a table to finish. How the hour works
Your host meets you on Residenzplatz, walks you through the market on both squares, then into the Old Town: Getreidegasse, the courtyards, St Peter's and the cemetery, with the story of Silent Night and a Bosna on the way. On a clear evening the walk ends at a viewpoint over the lit city.
Your host is a Salzburg local from the LocalBini network who knows the Old Town squares and the Advent traditions of the city.
Within a day you hear back with the host, the meeting point and the price for your group.
