Albert Square and nine city centre sites
Germany's oldest documented Christmas market, since 1434.
Checked against the organiser in October 2026. The official site is the authoritative source.
The Striezelmarkt is named after the Striezel, the ancestor of the Christstollen, and the 2026 edition is the 592nd. It fills the Altmarkt with Erzgebirge wood crafts, the world's tallest Christmas pyramid and the smell of Stollen. Around it, the baroque Old Town adds the Frauenkirche, the Stallhof medieval market and the Elbe terraces.
The local specialty: Dresdner Christstollen, with the Stollenfest on an Advent weekend.
One hour with your host and a small tasting of the local specialty, from EUR 69 per person. Company evenings run two hours with tastings and a table to finish. How the hour works
Your host meets you at the Striezelmarkt, explains the Erzgebirge crafts and the Stollen story, then walks you through the rebuilt Old Town to the Frauenkirche, the Stallhof medieval market and the Brühl terrace above the Elbe, with a Pfefferkuchen and Glühwein stop.
Your host is a Dresden local from the LocalBini network who knows the Striezelmarkt, its traditions and the Old Town around it.
Within a day you hear back with the host, the meeting point and the price for your group.
